We regret to inform you that our great grand-Sensei, Nobuyoshi Tamura Shihan (8th Dan), has passed away on 09 July 2010 in his home in France. He was 77 years old.

Tamura Sensei was one of the giants of the aikido world, and one of the last of the early postwar generation of Hombu Dojo instructors. In his youth, he was one of the leading uchideshi at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo under Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba. Tamura Sensei was a favoured uke of the founder and can often be seen in the old aikido films of the 1950s and 1960s.
